Mission and Goals
Mission Statement:
FFF produces engaging content to inform and model constructive civic discourse among our audience that fosters peaceful, stable, and accountable governance at home and abroad.
Approach:
“Former Feds & Friends” uses pop culture to engage audiences in challenging discussions about countering authoritarianism, preventing atrocities, promoting accountability, and safeguarding human rights. In our flagship program, we film former government experts reacting to popular films and television series (SciFi, Fantasy, Animation, etc.) and use the footage to produce visual content for dissemination on popular social media sites.
Guiding Values:
Our work is guided by the following values:
- Human Dignity & Respect - People matter most. We prioritize empathy, fairness, compassion, safety, and do-no-harm approaches in our content and internal practices.
- Collaboration & Accountability - We work generously and share responsibility. We hold ourselves and one another accountable for commitments, while recognizing limits and capacity.
- Transparency & Trust - We communicate openly and honestly with one another and with our audience to build durable trust.
- Accuracy & Objectivity - We are committed to evidence, fairness, and clarity, and we strive to engage complex issues thoughtfully and responsibly.
- Humility & Growth - We approach our work with curiosity, welcome feedback, and treat mistakes as opportunities for learning and improvement. We know that we can always be doing better.
These values govern both how we work and how we exercise authority. For more information about our governance, internal structure, and approach, please contact us.
